Shrek JR Kid Patrol Volunteer
If you would like to volunteer to do Kid Patrol, we can use your help and you will earn volunteer hours. Your basic duties are to manage the check in/check out table as parents/guardians sign their kids in and out of rehearsal, accompany children to the restroom, if needed, and possibly control volume if some children are waiting for their scene. If you are signed up for Kid Patrol, you need to arrive 15 minutes before the rehearsal start time and remain there until all children have been checked out. We need at least one parent/guardian for each night while at KVTA Studios. Once we move to LCC, we will need two parent/guardians, and during tech week, we'd like to have three parent/guardians. Dates will be added as we progress through each week.
Shrek JR School Performance Ushering
Ushering is a simple job and is an easy way to earn some volunteer hours for someone in the cast! We would appreciate any person 17 and older that can volunteer an hour of their time. If you have a young person under age 17 that is interested, please send us a message. If you, the cast member, have family, friends, or other people who are both interested in seeing the show and willing to volunteer, this is a perfect opportunity for them. Ushers are asked to arrive about an hour before showtime and will not only earn volunteer hours for a cast member but will also be able to see the show for free (if they usher for more than one show then they can view it for free only once). In general, ushers mainly assist guests in finding their seats and passing out programs. If someone you know might be interested in ushering for one of the shows, but they have more questions, please ask them to email kvtashows@gmail.com.
We do encourage all school show volunteers to stay for the entire day. Meaning, if you sign up to usher for the 9:30 am timeslot, please also volunteer your time for the 12:30 pm timeslot. If you absolutely cannot stay for both times, that is fine. It just makes training easier for our head ushers.
